More than Just a Dance
Through flamenco-based movement and rhythm, we work with underserved and vulnerable communities in Singapore to promote physical and emotional well-being, social connection and raise awareness of social causes that are relevant in Singapore

Why
Through our social out-reach programs, we have seen first-hand the benefits of flamenco:
-
Flamenco-based movement supports physical health by encouraging balance, coordination and mobility.
-
Rhythmic patterns of flamenco-based movement stimulate memory and focus.
-
The expressive nature of flamenco-based movement becomes a "voice" for emotional expression and release and story-telling without words.
Our programs also:
-
Bring people together through our shared community activities and events.
-
Build confidence through learning new movements and having opportunities to perform and share at community events.
What began as a small initiative years ago has grown into a sustained commitment to carry our passion beyond the stage and into the community, using flamenco as a way for people to connect and share, and build confidence and physical and mental health through movement.

How
Our outreach work takes many forms — from intergenerational workshops at elder‑care homes, to movement and rhythm sessions for youth at risk, to arts‑based confidence‑building programs for women’s groups. We have brought flamenco into primary and secondary schools through assembly showcases and hands‑on classes, and we have supported inclusive arts festivals with performances that highlight multicultural collaboration.
Through long‑term partnerships with schools, elder‑care centres, disability organisations, and social service groups, FSF has created inclusive spaces where people of all ages and backgrounds can move, express, and belong.
Community Workshops
Led by professional artists experienced in community facilitation, our workshops blend flamenco movement, rhythm, drama, and physical theatre. Participants reflect on their own stories and relationships, co‑creating original material—lyrics, spoken text, poetry, props, and simple costumes.
Co‑Creation & Ownership
Every participant contributes to the artistic process. This fosters confidence, empowerment, and a sense of belonging, especially for individuals who may feel unseen or isolated.
Intergenerational & Cross‑Cultural Engagement
Our programmes intentionally bring together seniors, youth, mothers, migrant communities, and persons with mental health challenges. Through shared movement and co‑creation, participants discover common values while celebrating Singapore’s multicultural richness.
Community Showcases
Each outreach cycle culminates in a performance where participants present their co‑created work. Families, neighbours, and supporters gather to celebrate their courage, creativity, and collective spirit.

La Fiesta
What Is La Fiesta?
La Fiesta is FSF’s signature community outreach platform—grant‑ and donation‑supported, uniquely designed each year to reflect the social context of the moment. Past editions have brought together seniors, children at risk, women, mental health communities, and families from diverse backgrounds.
The 2025 edition explores how relationships shape our lives—within families, friendships, neighbourhoods, workplaces, and the wider community. Participants reflect on what binds or divides us, especially as Singapore marks SG60.
